Napoleon’s Saturn

Napoleon showed some Saturnine qualities. Napoleon was a highly paternal man who was a disciplined workaholic and he brought order to a nation ravaged by the excesses of Revolution. Will we see this in the Saturn placement of Napoleon’s natal chart?

A similarity in my chart and Napoleon’s is that Saturn in Cancer.

If Astrology is real that Saturn in Cancer is extremely important in my chart above. I have some ideas but I’m not sure yet what it signifies - if anything. Let’s look at Saturn in Cancer.

The above sounds like the Mexican standoff between me and the agents who are trying to disturb me. I know they are malevolent and dishonest but if I’m smart, I can transmute that dark energy into something that’s useful to me. That’s what I consider the gift of what I’m learning about Astrology. These are my natal energies. I’m stuck with them. They can make me or break me. It’s up to me how this plays out and I’ve chosen to serve the Most High. Where will my service bring me? Saturn in Cancer seems like a restriction on emotion. The premise of my project is largely that Napoleon secretly was pining for his Stepdaughter and he couldn’t express it openly. That could be Saturn in Cancer. It’s a limitation on the flow of emotion.

Napoleon’s Saturn is in the 9th house.

The link at the “here” above describes how Saturn in the 9th house (Jupiter, foreign travel) can lead to terribles trips. No one’s travels were visited with more miserable difficulties than Napoleon’s war campaigns. The screenshot above makes me think of Napoleon’s relationship with his Priest Uncle, Cardinal Fesch. Napoleon was infuriated by his uncle’s way of thinking. Napoleon was brought up strait laced Catholic but his thoughts seemed to have been a bit eccentric and he was a true believer in freedom of religion - even though he reinstituted Catholicism in France. Despite this, he had massive conflict with the Pope and he was excommunicated. That all seems a bit Saturn in the 9th house to me.

We once again see the Saturnine restriction on feeling in the aspect, Saturn opposite the Moon. Let’s look at that.

Napoleon was sent off to France on his own as a boy.

We really see the dynamics described above in Napoleon’s marriages. His first marriage was to a woman who really was very maternal but wayward and older than Napoleon. Then his second wife was not really more than a child emotionally. We see the Moon Saturn blend energy in the Moon placement just in Capricorn which is ruled by Saturn. Napoleon really was a stern guy hiding A LOT of very intense emotions. His romance novella and his love letters shows that all too clearly.
