When I used to watch Absolutely Fabulous, I was frequently struck by the bells ringing in my head. It seemed to have something to do with me - but of course not. I was just a nobody stuck at home forever because all opportunities had clearly been closed off to me. I came to believe that all chance of advancement had been taken off the table because I wasn’t 1 of the rich people who SEEMED to have everything in my area, The Hamptons. But they also appeared far more miserable than even I was so - I wasn’t quite certain what was happening.
