I know it’s ridiculous I’m doing this and I haven’t seen that many movies but I did relate a great deal to Luke’s character in The Royal Tennenbaums - the shattered tennis player who wants to kill himself and can’t be with the 1 he loves because she is stuck with someone that she has to hide from because she is so unhappy.
Now that I’m connecting more directly with Luke, I’m finding out that all of this is real. He is somehow a part of this grim situation that has us all trapped which is why we want Diana and Evelyn to exit our lives. Their scams are being exposed by all of us because we need to shake loose from their infernal authority. WE DO NOT CONSENT TO THEIR POWER OVER US.
