Monday, JUNE 13
Mercury enters Gemini today. This planet of communication first moved into Gemini on April 29th but later turned retrograde and then retreated into Taurus. Today, Mercury re-enters Gemini and will stay in the sign until July 5th. It’s a time when we’re more interested in trivia, information tidbits, and detached observations. There can be frequent changes of mind and subject while Mercury is in Gemini in the weeks ahead. We’re friendly, flexible, and quick to grasp topics.
The Moon spends the day in truth-seeking Sagittarius, harmonizing with Jupiter early day and Mars and Chiron this evening. We find relatively easy channels for expressing our feelings and spirit for adventure or discovery.
MERCURY ENTERS GEMINI
In 2022, Mercury is in Gemini from April 29th to May 22nd, 2022, and then from June 13th to July 5th, 2022.
Mercury spends extra time in the sign of Gemini this year due to its retrograde from May 10th to June 3rd, 2022. During this retrograde, Mercury returned to Taurus, but now returns to Gemini on June 13th.
When Mercury is in Gemini, we are especially communicative, curious, and sociable. Mercury feels right at home in Gemini, one of the signs that it rules. We tend to take more pleasure in gaining a superficial knowledge of many subjects rather than dig deep into any one topic.
When it comes to making a point or debating, we are especially astute while Mercury is in Gemini. We are attracted to wordplays, puns, and negotiations, and we’re easily distracted.
Characteristics of the Mercury-in-Gemini cycle:
interested in trivia, information tidbits
manual and mental dexterity
language mastery, talkative, flexible
able to mimic, quickly grasp, decide promptly
changes of mind/subject, detached observations
nervous energy

Let’s look into the astrological concept of the Vertex.
The following is shared from cafeastrology.com
Vertex
The Vertex is a point located in the western hemisphere of a chart (the right-hand side) that represents the intersection of the ecliptic and the prime vertical. In astrology, it is considered an auxiliary Descendant. The Anti-Vertex is the point that is exactly opposite the Vertex. Some astrologers refer to the Vertex as the “third angle” of a chart.
The Meaning of the Vertex in Astrology
Use and meaning of the Vertex in astrology is debated–those who use the Vertex generally feel it is a point of karmic or fated connection. Some consider it a point of “wish fulfillment.” It is perhaps most widely used in synastry. The Vertex is said to be activated at major turning points in our lives, most notably when we meet a significant other or end a significant relationship, and some believe it is triggered when there is a birth or death.
I use the Vertex in all of my astrological work. In synastry, it is often prominent in significant relationships: one person’s personal planet or ASC conjuncts or opposes the other person’s Vertex, generally conjuncts. I use a rather tight orb of 2 degrees. These interaspects are not present in all significant relationships, but when they are present in romantic connections, there is a rather common theme in place: the individuals meet and do not fall in love right away. In fact, there can be some feeling of reluctance, and, unlike South Node connections in synastry, they don’t feel an instant sense of recognition. When they do fall in love, it is much like an “epiphany” — sort of on the lines of “Wow, I really do like you–I didn’t expect this!” The feelings come “out of the blue” and in a rush of feeling.
Note that synastry contacts between the progressed Vertex in one chart and a personal planet or the Ascendant in another’s chart are significant as well.
In predictive work, I have found the Vertex prominent when important connections are made. For example, in my own life, each of my significant romantic relationships featured the following: the Venus Return for the years that I met these people had the Vertex and Moon’s Node in tight hard aspect (conjunct and square), and transiting Venus in hard aspect to those points on the day that I met them. (Read more about Venus Return charts here). Secondary progressions and solar arc directions involving progressed or directed Vertex and progressions or directions to natal Vertex were also prominent. The Vertex-Node connection in the Venus Returns in my life are perhaps especially meaningful and striking because Venus rules my seventh house (and Vertex).
Every now and again, I speak with people who have had two (and sometimes more) “significant others” with the same birth date, but different years. This means that the people they were partnering with had roughly the same degree and sign of the Sun. With the exception of one whose birth time is uncertain, each of these people were meeting more than one significant other whose Sun was conjunct their natal Vertex.
It is important to note that when romantic partners have conjunctions between one person’s Vertex and the other person’s personal planets (and/or going both ways), it doesn’t necessarily mean the relationship is a blissful, “happily ever after” one. That is hardly the case. However, it does suggest a powerful connection.
If you know your birth time, you can determine the sign of your Vertex with this tool.
What is the Vertex?
In order to make a quick and easy comparison: if the Ascendant is our way of showing ourselves before the world, the vertex is the way in which others perceive us and therefore, the events that approach our lives. It is the "ascendant" of our deepest mind, the passive manifestation of the unconscious that becomes our destiny.
Apparently, we cannot significantly change what the vertex points out, since it involves other people and, consequently, does not depend solely on our attitude. It is as if certain events in our life force us to grow at the point that the vertex indicates. It has a karmic component, it is like the programming that follows our soul in this journey towards its natural evolution.
Because of its very profound nature, it gives us information about psychological and behavioral disorders. It refers to the compulsions that are difficult to avoid and that harm us in our relationships with those around us. However, if well harnessed, we will be able to transform our lives through the path of personal improvement.Something that the universe takes very much into account when designing the love of our life.
How is the vertex calculated?
Finding out the location of this point is complicated and it is necessary to master deep notions of astrology for its calculation. As far as we are concerned, it is enough to know that the vertex is, hypothetically, found in the right hemisphere of the natal chart, commonly between the astrological houses V, VI, VII and VIII, which are the houses that most directly affect our personal life. This is where the great turns in the vital trajectory are produced.
The internet provides magnificent astrological online tools that perform the cumbersome part of calculating the vertex for us. Even professional astrologers use these software! Simply enter your data in the relevant boxes and in the "options" section, click on "vertex".
The vertex in astrological houses
The Houses where the vertex is located in an astrological chart have a special meaning, because they are the sectors where destiny, with a necessary and unknown chain of events, becomes present. They are areas where unforeseen turns of life occur. These facets of life are the ones that tend to repeat themselves.
Vertex in house VI (My Chart shows vertex in the Sixth House)

People with the vertex in this house dedicate their lives to service, as well as the cultivation of patience, but as a counterpart, they may acquire certain somewhat rigid behaviours. Love for people with this vertex is found in environments where order and sense of duty reign (school, work, etc.). Loves may arise in a context of doctor-patient, teacher-student, etc.
Vertex in the signs
While in the houses he talks about "events", the zodiac sign of the vertex will help us understand those unknown personality compulsions. These are the attributes that we must be aware of in order to detect them and be able to modify them accordingly. It may happen that during a planetary transit of some of the personal planets the vertex is activated and with it, our profound nature becomes difficult to control.
Vertex in Libra (My Vertex is in Libra)
This position of the vertex is very dependent on others, we must learn to make choices and detach often, or otherwise we will always be clinging to a past that is no longer valid. The vertex in Libra tends to fix unconsciously in fiery people, with authoritative characteristics.
The vertex and the loves that change our lives
On a sentimental level, the vertex speaks of encounters that will change our life forever, the special relationships, the inevitable arrows that Cupid shoots.
It has happened to all of us that we are suddenly attracted to someone who has nothing to do with our tastes and preferences. In these cases we must suspect the vertex, guilty of being suddenly attracted to this type of person.
We are attracted to the people of the opposite sign to our vertex. For example, if we have the vertex in Pisces, we will tend to approach people who show features of Virgo, even if their zodiac sign is different! The birth chart of people is too complicated to establish compatibility exclusively from the sun sign, and this is something that confirms the vertex.
Another indicative of a destined attraction is found in the astral chart of synastry. When we compare two natal charts, we see that the angular aspects of a part, such as: ascending / descending, IC / MC or vertex fall in conjunction or opposition with our vertex.
We can also meet someone very special when a planet or angle in transit touches our vertex and this can be guessed by the astral chart of that moment. It is convenient to do it when we feel that we meet someone who make us feel like we are on cloud nine.
It should be noted that although at the beginning, the relationship is lived with absolute communion, there can still be a tragic point. A strong connection is experienced between the two people and the same happens with the ascendant or descendant, although this does not necessarily mean that the relationship will be for life, what it tells us is that this person will teach us something important for our relationships or, our conception or philosophy of our existence.
. . .
Here is another take on Vertex:
Have you ever wondered why certain people feel familiar to you — as if you’ve come across their energy before — but you can’t quite put your finger on why? More often than not, it has a lot to do with your synastry (or astrological compatibility), which is the way your birth chart works together with another person’s. In each chart, there’s a specific point called a vertex. And when it’s activated, fated circumstances may take place.
Though the vertex isn’t an actual planet, it arises from the intersection of the prime vertical and the ecliptic in a birth chart, and it can describe why you feel drawn to certain people and not so much to others. It’s similar to your rising or ascendant sign in that it’s a floating point in the chart that is subject to change. It’s also often referred to as a “second ascendant,” but it’s primarily used to understand relationship dynamics.
While astrology is a tool that can be used to uncover exactly where in life you’ll have the most fortune, the vertex pinpoints exactly where this fate will likely unfold in your birth chart. By interpreting the house placement of your vertex in your chart, you can easily uncover where you’ll experience the most fate. If relationships have always gone extremely well for you, it could be because your vertex falls in your seventh house of partnership. If you’ve always seemingly had luck with money, it’s probably because your vertex is in your second house of money and possessions. Understanding where you tend to run into blessings (and where you don’t) is an incredible way to work with the promises of your birth chart.
How To Understand Your Vertex In Romantic Relationships
We all have signs we love, and signs we seemingly can’t stand. If you’re someone who constantly finds yourself drawn to Geminis, you may come to realize that your vertex placement is in that sign. If you have your vertex in Aries, you may find that you have very fated interactions with them. In relationships, this person may feel like a soul mate, and the relationship will likely have a very strong impact on you.
This can come with its challenges, though, as most relationships do. Despite how amazing fated connections may sound, they don’t always have a happy ending, especially if you’re not willing to do the work. Even the most seemingly perfect relationship experiences its ups and downs, so remember, your vertex can only take you part of the way.
How To Find The Vertex In Your Birth Chart
The vertex tends to be located in the fifth, sixth, seventh or eighth house in a birth chart, and you can identify it by locating the symbol that appears as “Vx.” It’s located in these houses because they’re the area of the chart that represents things opposite to your rising sign, which is why the vertex tends to reside in the houses opposite your rising.
You’ll often find that fate has a lot to do with matters in your external world, which is why the vertex commonly resides in the relationship-oriented houses. While your vertex can tell you a lot about what kind of person you may find fated relationships with, their vertex placement can speak volumes, too. In order to better understand the fated connection you have with someone, be sure to take a look at the sign their vertex falls in as well — chances are, it may just be in your sign, too.

Another look at the Vertex:
What your Vertex sign means:
The meaning of your Vertex depends on the house, sign, and degree of where it is located in your natal chart.
A Vertex isn’t a planet, asteroid, or any other celestial body; it is an abstract point in your astrological chart that intersects the ecliptic and prime vertical points on your natal chart.
This is incredibly important for relationships as we sometimes feel we have met someone we know is going to be important in our lives (whether that be a friend, partner, spouse, etc.).
Destiny, fate, encounters, karma, and wish-fulfillment are all words that are strongly related to Vertex and should give you a good sense as to what Vertex is all about.
When your Vertex is on the same planet or house as another person’s, it reveals attraction.
This attraction is not always romantic, though it can be; it simply means you will have good chemistry and be attracted to each other’s energy.
Some consider these people to be soulmates and while that is sometimes the case, it can also be anyone who is meant to be in your life (for one reason or another) at a specific time for a particular reason.
One way or another, encounters created from Vertex connections are set to alter your life no matter how long that person is in your life.
How to find your Vertex.
To find your Vertex you will need to know your birthday, exact birth time, and city of birth.
There are plenty of free calculators you can use to figure out your Vertex sign but we will link some here!
Here is the meaning of each Vertex for all zodiac signs in astrology:
Vertex in Libra (This applies to me. More explanations about vertex in the signs can be read here:)
Bringing people together and mediating conflict are important aspects of a Vertex in the zodiac sign of Libra.
The ability to stay impartial and not let your own feelings get in the way is the ideal way to create harmony around you and an environment that benefits everyone.
Above is the synastry chart of myself and Koand. I’ve been working to show that our story is playing out in a similar manner to what is being shown in these charts. My planets are in blue, his are in red but the houses and calculations based on birth time should be disregarded as I don’t have a verified birth time for him.
What does it mean that my Vertex in Libra is Conjunct Koand’s Venus in Libra?
. . .
When your Vertex is contacted by another person’s planet or point, a fated relationship is indicated. In my article which looked at common Synastry Aspects in the charts of married couples, I noticed the Vertex and/or Anti-Vertex of at least one of the partners was often activated. Strong Vertex and Anti-Vertex aspects in the Composite chart also indicate a fated union. Indeed, Composite Charts featuring a Vertex/Descendant conjunction are common among married, fated, “meant-to-be” relationships.
What is the difference between the Vertex and Anti-Vertex? The Vertex is considered a “second Ascendant,” while the Anti-Vertex is considered a “second Descendant.” As such, Vertex connections in synastry signify a highly personal connection. Some astrologers have said that the Anti-Vertex is less significant than the Vertex, but based on personal experience, as well as my observations of other synastry charts, I disagree. Perhaps these astrologers the Vertex is stronger in synastry because it is always found in someone’s 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, or 9th houses, which are the houses that represent our relationships with “others.” Having someone else’s planets in these houses (especially the 5th, 7th, and 8th houses), conjunct the Vertex or not, indicate a high level of compatibility and intimacy. The Anti-Vertex, on the other hand, is located in the opposite house of the Vertex (the 11th, 12th, 1st, 2nd, or 3rd houses), which relate to personal concerns and our private worlds. As such, if conjunctions to the Anti-Vertex occur in synastry, this person may become a significant part of your “inner world.” As someone who has had conjunctions to both my Vertex and Anti-Vertex in synastry, I can tell you the “pull” is equally strong in both cases.
The Vertex and anti-Vertex show us who we are unconsciously attracted to. When Vertex and Anti-Vertex aspects show up in synastry or composite, the two people are irresistibly attracted to one another. The Vertex owner feels the planet/point person is the “man/woman of their dreams.” You usually meet each other unexpectedly and ‘out of the blue.” It is fate that brings the two of you together, and you immediately feel a strong connection when you first meet. The feeling that the other person will change your life can be quite strong. You feel for this person in a way you’ve never felt before.
You will meet this person when your Vertex/Anti-Vertex is contacted by a transiting planet. I’ve also found that strong Vertex/Anti-Vertex connections in the Solar Return indicate the year in which you will meet that special someone.
For example, the year I met a man with whom I have a Vertex-Venus aspect in synastry, my Solar Return chart showed a Vertex-North Node conjunction in the 5th house of love and romance. In addition, the day I met him, transiting Mars was conjunct my natal Venus exactly.
Synastry Aspects with the Vertex
Venus- Vertex/Anti-Vertex: (This is the case in my synastry chart with Koand. Click here for more information.)
This is a prime indicator of a fated, romantic link that will change your life forever. The feelings of love and romance are incredibly strong. The Vertex person finds the Venus person beautiful, charming, and the “man/woman of their dreams.” The love is so strong that separating from one another is incredibly difficult.
. . .
Another take on this Vertex / Venus conjunction is below:
Venus conjunct Vertex
Vertex person sees Venus as very charming and attractive, in some cases idealizing their partner. A long lasting, deeply romantic connection is very possible. Venus conjunct Vertex represents a lot of similarities in personal taste and aesthetics. There may also be a mutually beneficial financial interaction.
. . .
Venus Vertex Compatibility
Venus is the planet of love and romance. When your Vertex forms a connection with Venus, there is often a powerful relationship formed that will change both your lives forever. Think fatal attraction, soulmates and transformation through the power of love. Separating can be difficult with this placement.
On the stream, I’ve been discussing how listening to the album A Boy Named If indicated to my mind that I could speak telepathically to Koand. I’m showing here how the planetary transits of that time show that January 14, 2022 would be likely to signal significant changes to my personal relations and reputation.
Note that transiting Venus is Conjunct Black Moon Lilith. Koand likes to make waves and doesn’t seem to mind getting me involved on top of what I’m already doing. Transiting Neptune and Pallas Athena are Conjunct as they are also in my natal chart. This is a Paladin type energy. It’s the best aspected spot on my chart.
