Koand, Erich Sellheim - Country Darkness

Here we have the last song from the playlist named 21st century that showed up on Koand’s YouTube channel a few day ago. Country Darkness is one of my many favorites from The Delivery Man - an album that I particularly cherish. I remember some press described this record as a melding of country, rock and the blues. It’s quite the slice of the South that I know I would like to see rise again - hopefully this time in the right way.

. . .

Oh, she daydreams of forbidden sins there must be something more
The prison she lives in the one with the open door

Country Darkness Lyrics

This tattered document, a mystery you can solve
Some burnt out filament flies buzzing around the bulb

Country darkness

He thought of traveling heard an approaching train
Drown out his desperate pulse, a song with no refrain

Country darkness

Oh, she daydreams of forbidden sins there must be something more
The prison she lives in the one with the open door

A veil is covering a glistening cruel blade
Suffer little children repent, unfaithful maid

Country darkness, country darkness, country darkness

Oh, she daydreams of forbidden sins there must be something more
The prison she lives in the one with the open door

A veil is covering a glistening cruel blade
Suffer little children repent, unfaithful maid

Country darkness, country darkness, country darkness, oh
Oh
