Copyright laws protect the original authors but also, and more importantly, let’s be serious, the financial interests of the publishers who actually pay for and sell the books or whatever.
Because this is a democracy of the People, by the People and for the People, our government must occasionally pay lip service to the interests of the general public so they do allow the People fo use copyrighted materials in very limited circumstances, usually where there isn’t really any money being made. Very generous of our elected and//or appointed officials.
That’s the proof that copyright law is all about the publisher. If they aren’t going to make any money, go ahead and use the author’s original material. What do we care?
Listeners of Tanster’s nightly, live Napoleonic memoir readings have noticed that things have taken a turn this past week. First, Tanster started live streaming a video feed of her readings. Now she’s started telling her own story. This story just happens to involve the Artist formerly known as Elvis Costello.
Tanster passionately believes that she is Twin Flames with Napoleon Bonaparte and that Napoleon’s spirit now resides in Elvis Costello AKA Declan Macmanus AKA Koand.
But how to prove this paranormal relationship? The problem with verifying metaphysical phenomena is that our limited 5 senses only give us a small amount of information about the 4 dimensions they perceive. Mainstream science is currently speculating that there may be as many as 11 dimensions.
Since direct observation isn’t possible, the only way for us to understand these other seven dimensions is through creative thinking and scientific experimentation. To that end, Tanster is currently conducting a metaphysical experiment. The question being explored - does the spirit of Napoleon Bonaparte inhabit Elvis Costello?
Every single day for the last four years or so Tanster has been doing readings from various Napoleonic memoirs. These were books written by the people who knew him. The listener will therefore have been able to develop an understanding of Napoleon’s personality through the various perspectives of the people around him.
The question is, does Elvis Costello possess similar characteristics with Napoleon Bonaparte? Do they, in fact, have the same spirit?
In order to get an understanding of Elvis, Tanster will be reading from his autobiography. She will not be making money from this. Nothing is for sale. These readings are being done for purely scientific purposes.
Will the listeners see a similarity between Elvis and Napoleon? Will there be a consensus that they share a soul?
And on a meta level, what else would a scientific experiment of our nature in an unseeable spirit dimension look like? How else can we explore whether reincarnation is real?
This experiment will reveal a very large truth about the nature of the universe.
