Hortense de Beauharnais Bonaparte

Hortense de Beauharnais Bonaparte

Hortense’s Memoirs.

August 14, 2020

This art project is largely about sharing 1 book with the public - The Memoirs of Queen Hortense. Why is this so important to me? It’s a crazy sounding story and I really don’t expect anyone to believe what’s been happening to me so instead of explaining it directly, I make every attempt to show what’s happening here.

I have shared all these others memoirs about Napoleon to show that they corroborate Hortense’s memoirs. Like Hortense before me, I’m just so tired of the lies about Napoleon and this art project is my attempt to vindicate him.

The truth about Napoleon and Hortense is found between the lines throughout the honest congruent memoirs. The truth is perhaps most obvious in some of the letters Napoleon sent to her. I would like to present Hortense’s memoirs here along with the best translation I can do at this time in German.

I’ve been shocked that it is impossible so far for me to find these memoirs in German and I’m very suspicious about why this is the case. This book is extremely important. If anyone knows how I can find these memoirs in German, please contact me at tanaleealves@gmail.com.

I’d like to start this project with letters from Napoleon to Hortense. I have already published a few. They are here, here and here.
