I wish I could know the story of all the hands these books pass through before they land at this Project.

Napoleon didn’t really like this Doctor according to his valet Marchand. You can experience those memoirs here.

Interesting! Antommarchi says he’s pretty sure Napoleon never tried to poison himself. I wonder if I’ll be guided to broadcast these volumes. Sometimes these books come into my life for online posts only.

The only one that I haven’t had barely any use for so far has been the Oudinot memoirs. Oudinot basically was a strung out warrior who said that Tzar Alexander never really liked Napoleon all that much. Most of the book is his wife telling their child about the time she met Josephine and Hortense and other persons of note. Mme. Oudinot was surprised when she went to Josephine’s to find not only Madame Walewska but Madame de Staël there. We’re talking about Napoleon’s very significant mistress who basically ensured Josephine’s divorce by getting pregnant and the writer who was famous for ripping Napoleon apart in her literary work. Hortense was there too, nice but kind of stressed out by the circus at her mother’s house.

Later on when everything is falling apart, Mme. Oudinot seeks shelter at a palace where Hortense was also staying. Again Hortense is very nice but very stressed out.
