I love Napoleon. Right or wrong. Back in 1999, I was producing a play about the murder of Napoleon on St. Helena. A well known Canadian named Ben Weider had worked hard to publicize that Napoleon had been poisoned by English and French interests. Weider was very supportive of my plays and I told him that I had felt I heard the Spirit of Napoleon say that I should vindicate him.
I was shocked when Ben Weider emailed me back that he had heard the same thing.
My interest in Napoleon has always had mystical overtones and that experience has only grown more intense over time.
