Koand, Erich Sellheim - Country Darkness

Here we have the last song from the playlist named 21st century that showed up on Koand’s YouTube channel a few day ago. Country Darkness is one of my many favorites from The Delivery Man - an album that I particularly cherish. I remember some press described this record as a melding of country, rock and the blues. It’s quite the slice of the South that I know I would like to see rise again - hopefully this time in the right way.

. . .

Oh, she daydreams of forbidden sins there must be something more
The prison she lives in the one with the open door

Country Darkness Lyrics

This tattered document, a mystery you can solve
Some burnt out filament flies buzzing around the bulb

Country darkness

He thought of traveling heard an approaching train
Drown out his desperate pulse, a song with no refrain

Country darkness

Oh, she daydreams of forbidden sins there must be something more
The prison she lives in the one with the open door

A veil is covering a glistening cruel blade
Suffer little children repent, unfaithful maid

Country darkness, country darkness, country darkness

Oh, she daydreams of forbidden sins there must be something more
The prison she lives in the one with the open door

A veil is covering a glistening cruel blade
Suffer little children repent, unfaithful maid

Country darkness, country darkness, country darkness, oh
Oh

Koand - What If I Can’t Give You Anything But Love.

The penultimate song of this interesting 21st century playlist. This song really shocked me when I first heard it and my feelings have changed enormously since then. I’m certain I was not the only one who found this song surprising. I would put this on my prophetic songs list if I had one.

Lyric of note:

But I'm not quite the man that I used to be

. . .

We are in a bizarre situation and it gets a lot of interference from the PR tricks global crime empire. May we all learn how to get free of their clutches and many many hooks.

"What If I Can't Give You Anything But Love?" Lyrics

I'll tell you my secrets and you'll do the same
I'll lend you my name as an alias

I'll take the moonlight falling on your face
And the stars from up above
What if I can't give you anything but love?

Once hearing confession was my profession
Telling me things I don't need to know

So he opened up that door for you
The kind of thrill we'll never have
What if I can't give you anything but love?

Do you love me? It's dangerous to answer in the dark
Do you need me? Hold on while I negotiate that spark
Anticipate an impulse, tell me what I'm supposed to do
Do you want me? Do you want me like I want you?

When this is over I'll go back to my wife
I'm the man that she lives with in that other life
When this is over I'll go back to your dreams
But I'm not quite the man that I used to be

I recall the moonlight falling on your face
You're all that I adore
What if I can't give you anything more?

Don't you need me, baby?
Not one little bit?
Don't fix me with that deadly gaze, it's a little close to pity
This time is overdue, tell me what I'm supposed to do
Do you want me? Do you want me like I want you?

Your eyes wouldn't meet me as we passed on the stairs
The night's not all it's cracked up to be

I recall the moonlight falling on your face
And the stars from up above
What if I can't give you anything but love?

I recall the moonlight falling on your face
The stars from up above
What if I can't give you, what if I can't give you
What if I can't give you anything but love?

Koand And The Roots - REFUSE To Be Saved

We continue to look at the songs on the 21st century playlist that recently popped up on Koand’s YouTube. This song is near the end of the list. I feel we’ve had official verified pirate radio directly from the mysterious one for at least the last few days.

. . .

A handshaking double talking procession of the mighty
Pursued by a T.V. crew and coming after them
A limousine of singing stars and their brotherhood anthem

REFUSE To Be Saved Lyrics

Now that you set everybody free
What you going to do about me?
Don't want to be treated like some poor grateful clown
I'd rather go back in the sweet underground
Where I can tell the time by the colour of my skin
And I know my neighbour 'cos he's the one, yes he's the one
Who always turns me in

A woman works the tunnel in the middle of the night
Picking up every lost object in sight
Handbags, toupees, lost legs and fingernails
The black market eats up all your failures
Her transistor offers no salvation or regrets
No pool, no pets, no cigarettes
Just non-stop Disco Tex and the Sex-o-lettes

There's no name, there's no name
There's no name, there's no name
There's no name, there's no name
For the pain we'll cause you again and again
For the pain we'll cause you again and again

The Liberation Forces make movies of their own
Playing their Doors records and pretending to be stoned
Drowning out a broadcast that wasn't authorized
Incidentally the revolution will be televised
With one head for business and another for good looks
Until they started arriving with their rubber aprons and their butcher's hooks

There's no name, there's no name
There's no name, there's no name
There's no name, there's no name
For the pain we'll cause you again and again
For the pain we'll cause you again and again

They're hunting us down here with Liberty's light
A handshaking double talking procession of the mighty
Pursued by a T.V. crew and coming after them
A limousine of singing stars and their brotherhood anthem
The former dictator was impeccably behaved
They're mopping up all the stubborn ones who just refuse to be saved

I refuse to be saved
I refuse to be saved

Koand - Hetty O’Hara Confidential

Hetty O’Hara Made the 21st century playlist on YouTube. I’ve been trying to figure out what this is about since day 1. I will say that I hear a lot being said in this song about “the business”. I believe that it really does run on addiction, bribery, threats, violence, seduction and blackmail - all hallmarks of the present oligarch serving global spy system. A different publicity system is urgently needed now.

. . .

Who's cleaning up his act?
And breaking the bank?
But unfortunately didn't remember to thank me
But now the rumor is doing the rounds
That his only friends
Are villains and scoundrels

Hetty O’Hara lyrics

Hetty said, if you ask me nicely
I'll write you up well
Don't tell me twice
Quote you directly
Or pay the price
Peel off your skin like a thin veneer
If something tells you something that I didn't hear from you

Who's got the dope?
Who's got the potential?
Hetty O'Hara Confidential

Those were different days
Those were different drugs
The gold-plate palace with the half-mast flags
A chalk lined body that was full of slugs
She was trading favors for footnote plugs
Who's got the needle?
Who is fit to burst?
A morphine tattoo, an unquenchable thirst

Who's got your girlfriend?
And who had her first?
Reading her column was essential
Hetty O'Hara Confidential

She could kill a man with a single stroke
She is not the one you want to provoke
If you can't take the heat
Or you can't take a joke

Who's got the dope?
Who's got the potential?
Hetty O'Hara Confidential

If there was a gentleman caller
To a comely wench
And a snooping peeper
In a coat of trench
She'd place a line or two
At the foot of the page
A cue or a clue
To the latest rage
With your true dimensions
And your actual age
Trade a life of scandal
For a career on the stage

These little things seem inconsequential
Except to Hetty O'Hara Confidential

On the night he came home
From the debutante ball
Passed out drunk on the bathroom floor
Call-girl called after taking a peek
At the secret drawer of atomic secrets
Repeating something that I whispered about
They have to take it
But they can't dish it out

Who's cleaning up his act?
And breaking the bank?
But unfortunately didn't remember to thank me
But now the rumor is doing the rounds
That his only friends
Are villains and scoundrels
Her reputation curled like yellow smoke
She named the wrong man in the story she broke

She had an unfortunate character trait
The irresistible impulse to assassinate
But the damage you did was quite substantial
To Hetty O'Hara Confidential

They've got witch trials now
With witches to spare
And a jukebox jury full of judgement and fury
With bright neon dresses and porn star hair
She was thrown to the wolves
And the dogs and the foxes
Once they'd had their fill of shares and stocks
Their gaze is unforgiving
If your morals are lax
Pointing manicured fingers and making a mockery
With voices that sound like broken crockery
Hetty said, "I'm powerless and I feel alone"
Now everyone has a megaphone

Who's got the dope?
Who's got the potential?
Hetty O'Hara Confidential

Koand - The Final Mrs. Curtain

This enigmatic song about the future made the 21st century playlist that Koand recently posted to his YouTube channel. I keep getting the feeling that Koand has some insight into the future. He has already predicted much that has already come to pass in his songs - especially if you look at the albums Look Now, Hey Clockface and A Boy Named If. What can this song mean?

"The Final Mrs. Curtain" Lyrics

He was a plain piece of paper, an ordinary smith
The kind that you never trifle with
Drawn in wide-eyeliner, a solitary lass
Her beauty veiled by tortoiseshell and tinted glass

She was a husband collector of impeccable taste
She said, "My hands are tied but my glass is chaste"
He said, "If I were him, I'd fill that to the brim, so tell me more,
'Cause that's the kind of talk that I adore"

To lay with you
To lie with you
To live with you
Maybe die with you
As first love fades
Then two, then three
I'm certain to see
The Final Mrs. Curtain

There's not enough paper, there's not enough ink
There's not enough hours in the day, or poisons to drink
But there are too many teardrops that are still left to cry
And different kinds of kisses to help them dry

To lay with you
To lie with you
To live with you
Maybe die with you
As first love fades
Then two, then three
I'm certain to see
The Final Mrs. Curtain

To lay with you
To lie with you
To live with you
Maybe die with you
I'm the one who'll hold you
Till we're through
The Final Mrs. Curtain

Koand & The Roots - Wise Up Ghost

We’ve been closely examining the songs Koand recently posted to his 21st century playlist on YouTube. It’s been fascinating to me. Let’s continue with the following song which is included in this series.

Wise Up Ghost Lyrics

Last lions roar before they're tamed
I stood out in the glorious reign
Knowing full well I can't go home again

Wise Up
When are you going to rise up?
Yield some sighs up

Go on your merry way now if you must
Fool's Gold turns rivets into rust
'Til you don't know who to trust

Wise Up
When are you going to rise up?
Wise Up Ghost (Wise Up Ghost)
Yield some sighs up (Wise Up Ghost)
Wise Up Ghost (Wise Up Ghost)

Old woman living in a cardboard shoe
Lost so many souls, she don't know what to do
So, say your prayers 'cos down the stairs it's 1932

She revolves around a sparkling pole
Stares into the mirrored wall
Sees another woman walking through a market stall
(She's pulling out the pin)
(She's pulling out the pin)

Wise Up
When are you going to rise up?
Wise Up Ghost (Wise Up Ghost)
Yield some sighs up (Wise Up Ghost)
Wise Up Ghost (Wise Up Ghost)

Lost girl found on the radio
Down around Larado
Go direct to hell you murdering so-and-so

Trapped within a House of Feathers
Sitting in a Shirt of Wire
Howling at a Wall of Flowers
Saying "Wise Up Ghost"

Wise Up
When are you going to rise up?
Wise Up Ghost (Wise Up Ghost)
Yield some sighs up (Wise Up Ghost)
Wise Up Ghost (Wise Up Ghost)

I walked along an iron pier
Where Rose's kisses turned to tears
Saltwater rushing over the pebbles under there

Last sigh of passion
Slipped into the room like an assassin
Glad tidings we bring
For you and your King

Wise Up
When are you going to rise up?
Wise Up Ghost (Wise Up Ghost)
Yield some sighs up (Wise Up Ghost)
Wise Up Ghost (Wise Up Ghost)

Last lions roar before they're tamed
I stood out in the glorious reign
Knowing full well I can't go home again

Wise Up
When are you going to rise up?
Yield some sighs up

(She's pulling out the pin)
(She's pulling out the pin)
(She's pulling out the pin)
(She's pulling out the pin)

(She's pulling out the pin)
(She's pulling out the pin)
(She's pulling out the pin)

(She's pulling out the pin)
(She's pulling out the pin)

Throwing Stones - 4.30.2022

The jewelry installation this past Saturday was picked up by a lucky trio of teenagers. Fortunately a livestream camera run by Hamptons.com caught the whole thing. The fortunate fortune finders did hang out for quite a bit so the video is sped up in the middle.
