What made Napoleon so effective as a general?
Part of it was Napoleon’s dedication to discipline and hard work. He was very organized. Napoleon was careful to search for the wounded after battles and he would make every effort to make them feel special and rewarded. Napoleon really did make every effort to stop the wars, apart from giving everything to the allies and giving up until he did do these things. He could have continued fighting and many were urging him to but Napoleon did stop on his own.
In other words, most of Napoleon’s soldiers understood the real situation between him and his enemies and they wanted to help their hero. Napoleon was fighting a war of extermination and they were willing to stand up for their side even if that meant dying for their beliefs.
Throughout the memoirs below, we see in a thousand little ways how deeply Napoleon loved his soldiers and they returned that love - for the most part.

The last time Napoleon and Hortense saw each other on this earth
Hortense and Napoleon went through a lot. They both became stupefied at the loss of their sons. They both were in such agony that they sought death as a source of relief. Napoleon was heartbroken when Hortense became catatonic, then suicidal at the loss of her son. He felt it meant that his still being alive meant nothing to her.
What Napoleon learned was that Hortense was the kind of mother who put her children before anyone else, even him.
The last time they saw each other, he knew he was doomed. She knew he was doomed. They both knew the Napoleon’s enemies would do everything within their power to destroy his physical life and that they would show him no mercy.
Still, Napoleon had once been lucky and perhaps destiny would give him one more chance.
When Hortense was afraid that killers were coming for Napoleon during this last period where they were under the same roof, she physically threw herself before them. She didn’t think at all of her own future and did nothing to protect the little she had left. She pushed him to take a diamond necklace. All she could think of was Napoleon. She was obsessed with him and she couldn’t think of anything except him.
At their parting, Napoleon was telling her that the only hope for her sons was following him wherever he was going. Ever since her teens, Napoleon had employed every lever he could to keep Hortense attached to him. Finally he was out of power and they both had to submit to their separation.
Hortense wrote:
For who is there who can without emotion leave a spot where he has been happy and which he will never see again, a spot associated in his mind with so many visions of success, fame, fortune and happiness, a spot where so many hearts have submitted to his spell, from whence he has set forth to conquer the world, and where now he is spending the last few days that he is allowed to live in his own country, before setting out banished from his own soil, to face whatever uncertain fate awaits him overseas?

Gemini is a duplicated sign in my chart which means both cusps of a certain house fall into Gemini. I go into my duplicated sign situation here. A duplicated sign has to present its energy more strongly to make up for an insufficiency elsewhere. It’s operating along an axis to my other duplicated sign opposite it which happens to be Sagittarius - a male fire Jupiterian concept.
Gemini engulfs the 2nd house which is associated with Venus and money and art. Let’s see what it means to have the 2nd house in Gemini.

I plan to look into the astrological houses more in depth later but for now the basic idea is that the second house is about money. Pertaining to the above screenshot, I paid my college loan off through trading stocks. It was only when I understood the rigged nature of the stock market that I could start making money. I also worked a a great deal as a photographer zipping around from one social situation to another. Once again, just at this level the astrological portrait is still accurate. My whole current project which is communicative and artistic (2nd house is ruled by Venus, as is my chart) is driven by a powerful twin theme without which it would not exist at all.
